Macalester College provides wireless Internet access for visitors and guests. Wireless access is available in most public areas of the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To access the Macalester College wireless network, select Macalester Guest<\/strong> from the list of wireless networks. A Wi-Fi certified wireless network card that is Wi-Fi 5 or newer is required to access the Macalester Guest wireless network, a standard for most modern laptops and mobile devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because of the increased risk of identity theft, aggressive credit card number theft, malware, etc., guests must agree to the Information Technology Responsible Use Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guest wireless access allows only for standard web surfing (ports 80 and 443), much like that found in many coffee shops. Application connections requiring non-standard ports will not be supported.
