In their final semesters at Macalester students are thinking about the many transitions that are ahead. We hope to provide programming that guides that transition while aiming to help seniors connect, reflect, and celebrate their personal accomplishments as well as the accomplishments of their peers. The following are a few opportunities we offer.
Adulting: A Series for Seniors
This series of events is coordinated to help seniors prepare for their life after Macalester. Topics are chosen based on student interest and we work with campus partners to bring the topics to life. Panels of young alums, lunch, on campus, and off campus resources are provided to introduce seniors to networking, self advocacy and community. Learn more about the Adulting Series
Senior Sweatshirt Day
This event provides a low-stakes, engaging event during a stressful time of the semester where seniors will receive their class sweatshirts in the midst of reminders about their lifelong connection to the college. Seniors will leave this event knowing that they are part of a large alumni community that cares about them, that Advancement is an active partner supporting their Macalester experience, and what tools and resources will help them engage with programming in the Spring and beyond.
Finals are done and seniors are ready to make one final journey toward graduation. Senior Week is a week of events hosted to encourage and engage the Senior Class one last time. This tradition celebrates the accomplishments of the graduating class. Events are for Seniors and invited guests only. Some events require the purchase of a ticket to attend.
