Funding for student organizations is provided through allocations of student activities fees. You cannot spend money on events unless you have secured <strong>approved funding<\/strong>, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100\/semester flexi funds,&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved annual budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved additional allocation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved fundraised dollars.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For information on accessing already approved funds or requesting additional funds for your events, please check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/leadership-engagement\/student-organizations\/student-organization-finances\/\">Student Organization F<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/leadership-engagement\/student-organizations\/finances\/\">i<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/leadership-engagement\/student-organizations\/student-organization-finances\/\">nance webpage<\/a> or contact <a href=\"mailto:FAC@macalester.edu\">FAC@macalester.edu<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Possible Event Expenditures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Event preparation:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promotion\/publicity&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decorations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event printing (e.g. tickets, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilities fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purchasing: rights to a film, Equipment, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event needs:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Technology&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accessibility considerations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Host\/Volunteer roles&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security, custodial and media&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and beverage (must be under $10\/person unless granted an exemption by FAC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speaker\/Performer fees:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Honorarium and additional contract fees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to pay any individual or group for services to your organization, a contract must be generated and signed with assistance from the Center of Student Leadership and Engagement staff.&nbsp; Please go to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/19he-sNn91Lt5bdV2NeId82R04kpFPEwAqWO-YHSvR8s\/edit?usp=sharing\">Managing Expenditures<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/leadership-engagement\/student-organizations\/student-organization-finances\/\">Student Organization Finance webpage<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student organizations should create and adhere to a budget for their event.
