Changes to Pay-Per-View
Library staff are in the process of streamlining our interlibrary loan (ILL) and pay-per-view services in an effort to simplify article requests for our community, as well as, to ensure best use of library resources. Two years ago the Library became a member of the RapidILL network. Joining RapidILL has significantly shortened delivery time for journal article content. Because of this additional service, library staff have integrated our pay-per-view offerings into our ILL workflows.
What does this mean for you?
All article requests should now be submitted as Interlibrary Loan requests. Whenever possible, use the library’s online resources (WorldCat Discovery, databases) to identify and to initiate the auto-filled ILL request; this provides the lending library with the richest descriptive data–and you with the fastest service. Please include a “need by” date in the ILL request so we can choose the route to meet time-sensitive needs.
The majority of articles will be fulfilled through our regular ILL processes. If an article cannot be supplied via ILL, library staff will purchase the article on the faculty member’s behalf whenever possible.
