Fine Forgiveness Forever
March 20, 2019
The DeWitt Wallace Library is eliminating fines on most books, CDs, and DVDs, effective immediately. Our hope is that eliminating these charges will assist in keeping our collection accessible to all who seek to utilize it, and will lessen any stressful financial burden that overdue fines may cause.
This does not apply to fees from overdue materials on course reserves and other short-term checkout items such as laptops, audio/visual, technology items, and special items, such as bikes.
What to do:
- Once you have returned all library materials, stop by the library service desk in person, with an ID (cannot be done over email). Waiver applies to fines accrued on most overdue books, cds, and dvds that you found on the library’s shelves. Waiver does not apply to short-term checkout items, such as reserves items and laptops.
- If you have items that are overdue for 30+ days, return them as soon as possible. These items are considered lost and are subject to a replacement charge.
- Check your library account and borrow and return conscientiously
