The Oberlin Digital Scholarship Conference has reserved dorm rooms at Macalester College and rooms at a Minneapolis hotel for the convenience of conference participants. These accommodations are also available for POWRR Workshop attendees.

About 5 miles west of the Macalester College campus in the heart of south Minneapolis’ Lake Street area, the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel is next to the Midtown Global Market, an internationally-themed public market and with more than 30 ethnic restaurants featuring fresh and prepared foods.
A courtesy shuttle service will be available from the hotel to the Macalester College campus for the conference.

GDD has rooms arranged in suites, with a common room, private bathroom, and single and double bedrooms. Click here for information about the dorm. Rooms include: 2 sheets, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, bath towel, wash towel, washcloth, plastic cup, and soap. Guests receive two keys (a building entry key and a suite key). PLEASE NOTE: Doors to individual bedrooms within each suite do not lock from the outside. Also, a $50 fee will be assessed for lost keys.
Rooms are $36/night for a single, or $29/person/night for a double. Attendees of the POWRR Workshop and/or the Oberlin Digital Scholarship Conference will be able to select which nights they wish to stay in GDD when registering.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 - 8:30am and is $6.40.
Lunch is served from 11:30am - 1:00pm and is $10.15.
Workshop attendees are on their own for dinner. There are a number of restaurants close by for dinner or if workshop attendees wish to have breakfast or lunch on their own.
The Oberlin Digital Scholarship Conference registration fee includes dinner Friday evening, continental breakfast and lunch Saturday, and continental breakfast Sunday morning. Conference attendees are on their own for dinner Saturday night, but dine-arounds may be organized.
Several places on the list of restaurants and coffee shops near Macalester are within a block of campus: Khyber Pass, The Cheese Shop, French Meadow, Shish, Italian Pie Shoppe, Pad Thai, Grand Central, and Dunn Brothers.
For POWRR and Oberlin DS Conference attendees staying at the Sheraton, it is adjacent to the Midtown Global Market, an internationally-themed public market with many different kinds of fresh and prepared food. There are also two sit-down restaurants, A La Salsa and Rabbit Hole.
