Electrospiritology is a curatorial framework developed by LWG director Heather Everhart in response to Orellana’s work. A professor of art at Union College, Orellana works across robotics, AI, drawing, murals, and more—utilizing technology as a tool to extend human experience. His ongoing Shadows series of “ghost machines” inhabits the charged space where technology meets spiritual phenomena. Each Shadow begins long before circuitry is soldered, in the quiet act of collecting objects from the departed—an intentional archaeology of memory.
