Sedric McClure received a B.A. in Political Science from South West State University, Marshall in 1994 and will complete a MA in Public Policy and Leadership in the spring of 2012 from St Thomas University. He has 17 years of experience in student and academic affairs in higher education. His professional responsibilities have included work as an admission counselor, assistant director of multicultural affairs, and academic counseling. Sedric provides individual and group support with time management, learning strategies, and writing strategies. He also works with the Department of Multicultural Life to promote a healthy multicultural learning environment throughout our curricular and co-curricular experiences. He coordinates the Emerging Scholars Program, which is a peer mentor program for first year students of color and multi-racial students. Sedric is actively involved with the Macalester’s college access initiatives that include hosting campus visits for local youth and co-coordinating a two-week camp during the summer for African American middle school boys.
