Howard Sinker, Digital Web Editor/Sports, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and a graduate of Macalester, teaches news reporting. He has authored chapters in the textbooks Real Sports Reporting and Real Feature Writing, and often appears on Minnesota Public Radio to discuss sports issues of the day. He has run workshops for journalists with the DART Center for Journalism and Trauma and the Poynter Institute’s National Writers Workshops. The web sitestartribune.com/sports was named one of the Top 10 in the nation by the Associated Press Sports Editors in 2010 and 2011, and is one of only three news organizations (along with the New York Times and Los Angeles Times) to have won APSE multimedia awards in those years. In addition to the news reporting class, Howard also works with students as an internship sponsor.
