Professor Sen studies member-maintained websites that empower Internet users to contribute information we find valuable, such as photographs on flickr and articles on Wikipedia. He focuses on tagging systems, recommender systems, and combinations of the two. His research draws upon the fields of HCI, data-mining, psychology, and computer systems design. Professor Sen teaches a wide range of computer science courses including Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures, Internet Programming, and Collective Intelligence. He is an avid squash player, and plays saxophone in several Twin Cities jazz groups.
