Jason Jackson joined the Macalester College community and the Department of Multicultural Life as the new director of the Lealtad-Suzuki Center in August 2017. Previously, Jason served as Multicultural Education Coordinator and Teaching Specialist in the Leadership Studies Dept. at the University of Minnesota where he taught courses and wrote curriculum. Jason has also served as assistant director of the Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) for Queer and Trans Life at the University of Minnesota where his work centered on educational efforts for staff, faculty and students and outreach across the University of Minnesota. Jason received his undergraduate degree in Communications Studies and Master’s of Arts in Higher Education Administration the University of Minnesota. While a student at the U of M, Jason served as an intern for GSC and co-founded the student group Tongues Untied for LGBT People of Color. Currently Jason instructs a course on Personal Leadership at the U of M. Over the past six years Jason has been involved with Twin Cities Black Pride and the Twin Cities Ball Scene.
