Pianist, vocal coach and educator Dr. Jenya Trubnikava represents the third generation of
\nmusicians in her family. Born in Belarus, she received her education from Belarus
\nNational Academy of Music, Z\u00fcrich University of Arts, and the University of Minnesota.
\nAs a recitalist she has appeared with the musicians from the rosters of the Minnesota
\nOpera, Minnesota Orchestra, Zurich University of Arts, Minnesota Concert Opera,
\nWayzata Symphony Orchestra, St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra (where she served as the
\nprincipal pianist for 16 years), and National Opera and Ballet of Belarus. Her recent
\nparticipation list as collaborative pianist\/coach includes Minnesota Opera, Source Song
\nFestival, Merner Classical Music Concert Series, LOFTrecital, Classical Singer Magazine
\nCompetition, Schubert Club Courtroom Series, and Minnesota Orchestra Chamber Music
\nSeries.<\/p>\n
Jenya has coached with and accompanied the masterclasses of many accomplished
\nartists including Donna Brunsma (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Jennifer Frautschi (Stony
\nBrook University), Margo Garrett and Arlene Shrut (Juilliard School), Olivier Godin
\n(Conservatoire de musique et d\u2019art dramatique du Qu\u00e9bec, Canada), H\u00e5kan Hageg\u00e5rd
\n(Royal College of Music, Stockholm), Martin Katz (University of Michigan), John Largess
\n(Mir\u00f3 Quartet), Deen Larsen (Franz-Schubert-Institute, Austria), Fran\u00e7ois Le Roux
\n(Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris), and Rohan de
\nSaram (Arditti Quartet).
\nA native speaker of Russian and Belarusian, Dr. Trubnikava is an avid promoter of Slavic
\noperatic and art song repertoire. She is engaged as Russian repertoire\/diction coach at
\nthe Minnesota Opera Resident Artists Program and consults in Minnesota and beyond.
\nHer capstone project at the University of Minnesota, The Anthology of Belarusian Opera
\nArias, is an endeavor to make this part of vocal literature accessible for educators,
\nbeginners, and professional musicians alike.<\/p>\n
Jenya is co-founder of the project Esperanza, an ensemble of local musicians who
\nbelieve in the power of music to bring comfort and hope. The group performs at the
\nnursing homes and assisted living facilities across the Metro Area.
\nIn addition to her staff accompanist work at the Macalester College, Jenya serves as
\nVisiting Assistant Professor of Music at the College of St. Benedict\/St. John\u2019s University,
