{"id":224,"date":"2017-10-16T22:07:20","date_gmt":"2017-10-16T22:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/160-music\/facultystaff\/reidkruger\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T15:53:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T15:53:15","slug":"reidkruger","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/facultystaff\/reidkruger\/","title":{"rendered":"Reid Kruger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reid Kruger has composed music and sound design for film, television and dance.\u00a0 He is an accomplished music producer, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer and studio owner.\u00a0 As an artist-in-residence at The Banff Centre for the Arts, Reid studied electronic music, sound recording and post production techniques.\u00a0 Faculty included George Massenburg, Bob Ludwig and Mark Willsher.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, Reid recorded Roy Haynes\u2019 &#8220;Whereas,&#8221; which was released on Dreyfus Records and nominated for a Grammy.\u00a0 Other career highlights include composing the opening score for the Emmy Award-winning television show &#8220;Natural Heroes.&#8221; Recently, Reid produced the sound design for &#8220;Wise Blood,&#8221; based on a story by Flannery O&#8217;Connor, in a production co-sponsorship by the Soap Factory and the Walker Art Center.<\/p>\n<p>When he is not working in the studio or on-location, Reid is an Instructor (NTT) of Music at Macalester College, teaching electronic music and all things audio and video in their state-of-the-art Mairs Concert Hall.\u00a0 He plays in several bands including The Fussy Half, Waschering Maschine, That&#8217;s What You Get (TWYG), Solate, and Artifact Shore.\u00a0 When the music is turned down, Reid enjoys travel, cycling and sunlight.<\/p>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":165,"template":"","class_list":["post-224","profile","type-profile","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/224","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/224\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2717,"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/224\/revisions\/2717"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/165"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=224"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
