{"id":2275,"date":"2024-09-09T19:39:15","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T19:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=2275"},"modified":"2024-09-09T19:39:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T19:39:16","slug":"julie-elhard","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/music\/facultystaff\/julie-elhard\/","title":{"rendered":"Julie Elhard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Julie Elhard, viola da gamba, appears regularly as a soloist and chamber\u00a0musician and has made several appearances with the St. Paul Chamber\u00a0Orchestra, including the St. Matthew Passion by Bach under the direction of\u00a0Nicholas McGegan. She has been a guest artist with Apollo\u2019s Fire in\u00a0Cleveland and is a founding member of Violes Egales and Glorious\u00a0Revolution Baroque. Ms Elhard was awarded a 2011 Artist\u2019s Initiative grant\u00a0from the Minnesota State Arts Board and has also received a Jerome\u00a0Foundation grant. Ms Elhard received a Performing Artist Certificate from\u00a0the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, Netherlands and has taught\u00a0at workshops in North America and at the Viola da Gamba Society of\u00a0America\u2019s national Conclaves. She currently teaches viola da gamba at St.\u00a0Olaf College and Macalester College, and is director of the early music\u00a0programs at the St. Paul Conservatory of Music.
