St. Paul, Minn.— A lecture–recital about Dmitri Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues, Opus 87 will be presented by Macalester music professor Mark Mazullo at Macalester College on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

The lecture–recital is based on Mazullo’s book “Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues: Contexts, Style, and Performance” (Yale University Press, 2010). Mazullo is chair of Macalester’s Music Department as well as an accomplished pianist and piano instructor.
