St. Paul, Minn. – Highlander, the official store for Macalester College, will host a Grand Opening celebration on Wednesday, January 30. Officially opening in its new location at 32 S. Snelling late last year, Highlander now offers longer hours and expanded product assortments – including robust selections of clothing, gifts, supplies, course materials, and more.

Highlander welcomes all Macalester neighbors, students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff to join in their in-store Grand Opening event. Throughout the day, Highlander customers can enjoy a 20 percent discount on a single apparel or gift item as well as complimentary refreshments from Dunn Bros. Coffee, Breadsmith, Izzy’s Ice Cream and FunkyChunky. Highlander will also host an hourly giveaway from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., including a grand prize drawing for a Trek bicycle.

“We’re in a great new location, at the corner of Grand and Snelling Avenues by Common Good Books,” said Debbie Morrison, store manager at Highlander, “and we’re ready to deliver the products and services to the Macalester community when they want them.”
