Last week on campus:

  • Students, faculty, and staff celebrated Día de los Muertos in the Casa Hispana by preparing an altar and serving the traditional hot chocolate, tamales, and pan de muertos.
  • The Speak! Series featured Fausto Sterling, the Nancy Duke Lewis Professor Emerita of Biology and Gender Studies at Brown University. Her talk focused on applying dynamic systems theory to the study of gender differentiation in early childhood. She asserts that Dynamic Systems Theory permits us to understand how cultural difference becomes bodily difference.
  • The Macalester College Theatre and Dance Department presented The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov—the final theater production before construction begins on a new theater building later this year.
