A few of last week’s events are highlighted here:
- Halfway to May, an annual event co-sponsored by Alumni Relations to celebrate seniors being halfway to graduation. It was an opportunity to connect with the senior class and reflect not only on their time here at Macalester, but also to think about what’s to come. Alumni were brought in to talk with seniors about their life path post-Mac.
- Proud Indigenous People For Education (PIPE) hosted In The Kitchen With, in the Cultural House Kitchen and shared some Native American food, including Indian tacos and frybread. It was a great chance to celebrate November’s Nation Native American Heritage month.
- Repair Café, held in the Idea Lab, was a chance to learn to sew, to save money, and to create something. Students were encouraged to take a study break and learn to mend their clothes, make reusable bags, and more–then take it home or make it a holiday gift. They took away tangible skills to help them reduce waste in the future. (And enjoyed some snacks while they were at it.)
- And, some photos of Mac at night.
