Mac DNA – Morgen Chang
Morgen Cheng '11 received third place at the 48th Annual Midwest Sociological Society Student Paper Competition. She was also the lead in the fall production of Cabaret at Macalester.

Royal Wedding Telecast
About 65 people gathered in the John B. Davis Lecture Hall for the 5 a.m. telecast of the wedding of Prince William of Wales to Miss Catherine Middleton. Scones, tea and coffee were available.
Model UN Team Successful
Macalester's Model United Nations team recently returned from the week long National Model UN conference in New York City. The delegation of 12 Mac students represented Mongolia and brought home a Distinguished Delegation award; the second highest given at the conference. Congratulations, MacMUN!
As Katie Agnew ’11 can tell you, sometimes extracurricular activities can really pay off. Agnew, a math major from Princeton, Minn., spent most of her free time at Macalester working on the Student Activities Program Board, serving as its chair for the last two years.
Spring has arrived on campus. Macalester students took the opportunity to play and study outside.
Mac Idol 2011
Students performed in their own version of "American Idol." Judges were President Brian Rosenberg, VP for Student Affairs Laurie Hamre and Professor James Laine.
The biennial Asian Festival offered calligraphy, paper cutting, music, martial arts demos, and traditional Asian foods. This year's event was also a fundraiser for earthquake relief and students raised nearly $300.
Founders Day 2011
Founders Day is an annual community-wide celebration of Macalester’s history held on the anniversary of our founding.
Growing up in the Dallas suburbs, Matt Butler ’12 (Southlake, Texas) wasn’t politically active. Now, less than three years after enrolling at Macalester, Butler co-chairs its Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG) chapter, has worked as an election judge, and pitched in for Get Out the Vote campaigns.
