Founders Day 2012
Founders Day is an annual community-wide celebration of Macalester’s history held on the anniversary of our founding.
FaceAIDS Fashion Show
FaceAIDS hosted their second annual benefit fashion show and silent auction for the Malaysia PT Foundation. This is an organization that works with marginalized groups in Malaysia to advocate HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and support systems. Students modeled clothing donated from various companies and boutiques, and the clothing (among other gift baskets) was available for purchase during a silent auction.
Ice Skating at the Depot
Macalester's Program Board brought students to the Depot in downtown Minnepolis, about a 10-minute drive from campus, for free ice skating one weekend in February.

Step Forward “Thank You” event – San Francisco
Macalester College's first regional Step Forward "Thank You" event was held in San Francisco on January 27, 2012. Donors and friends celebrated the successful conclusion of the historic campaign.
With the help of a Macalester Live-It grant, Caroline Karanja ’12 returned to Kenya to build a greenhouse for girls orphaned by AIDS.
The Roommate Games
Res Life and Mac at Nite organized the Roommate Games at Macalester. The event, modeled after the Newlyweds game, tested students on how well they knew their roommates.
Students were invited for a night of curling at Biff Adams Arena in St. Paul. Brooms, ice, and instruction was provided.
Mo’rocking the Suburbs
Tyler Martinson ’12 studied medical care in Morocco while immersing himself in its many cultures and languages.
Springtime in Paris
While studying abroad in the City of Light, Kerry Alexander ’12 learned as much from her job as from her books.

Kick Out AIDS was a student-sponsored, benefit kickball tournament for Peace House Africa, a Minnesota-based organization that works to create a sustainable future for AIDS orphans and their communities.
