<\/figure>\n\n\n\nMarcia Burkey \u201984 <\/strong>is an accomplished business leader and advisor whose career has spanned finance, energy, technology, and global business. <\/strong>As the former CFO and executive vice president of TerraPower, a leading nuclear innovation company, she oversaw finance, human resources, information technology, procurement, contracts, and commercial development. She continues to support the company as an advisor. A graduate of Macalester and Columbia University, she earned a B.A. in international studies and political science and an M.A. in international business. Burkey was actively involved at Macalester in the International Student Organization, theater, and intramural tennis. Based in Seattle, Burkey and her husband, Bill, have two adult daughters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rafael A. Carrillo \u201995 <\/strong>is the founder and managing director of CoreBridge Advisory, an investment banking advisory firm. An investment banking leader whose career has spanned the globe, he most recently served as managing director of Barclays’ Asia Pacific Group in Singapore. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Citi. A former Scots soccer player and international student, Carrillo worked in the President\u2019s Office while he was a student. Remaining closely connected to the college since graduating, he and his wife, Elizabeth, have regularly hosted Macalester alumni and admissions events in Singapore and, more recently, in their new home in New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nathaniel L. Sloane CBE \u201975 <\/strong>is an accomplished entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and management consultant. He currently serves as chair of the board of Housing Solutions, a UK social housing provider, and was a founding trustee of the Education Endowment Foundation. In 2002, he co-founded the pioneering venture philanthropy trust Impetus. In addition to his degree from Macalester, Sloane holds master\u2019s degrees from Tufts University and the Institut Universitaire de Hautes \u00c9tudes Internationales in Switzerland. He remains deeply connected to the Macalester community as a supporter of the Macalester Fund and a member of the James Wallace Society, alongside his wife, Rebecca Sloane \u201974. Based in London, Nat and Rebecca are the parents of three adult children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Laurice Jimu \u201927, from Harare, Zimbabwe, will serve as the board\u2019s student liaison. A graduate of UWC Waterford, Jimu is majoring in economics and data science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Juliane Ray \u201901, from St. Paul, Minn., will serve as the alumni board liaison. Ray is a general manager at Clarivate, a leading global provider of transformative intelligence. She double majored in economics and international studies at Macalester and earned her MBA from the University of Virginia\u2019s Darden School of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Julia E. Salom\u00f3n P\u201927 will serve as the board\u2019s parent liaison. Salomon has served as a Parent Ambassador during her student\u2019s time at Macalester, and has been especially instrumental in engaging with the parents of prospective students through admissions events.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"Rafael](\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/653\/2026\/08\/Rafael-Carrillo.jpg\")
