request<\/li>\n<li><strong>When planning future time off using the calendar:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Review your leave balances based on the selected date to determine how much time will be available. <em>(Note: Your projected balances will adjust based on the date selected.)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Use the navigation arrows to move between previous and future months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the<strong> dates on the absence calendar<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Select<strong> days<\/strong> <strong>individually, click on a single date, OR<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select<strong> multiple consecutive days by clicking and dragging across the desired dates OR<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Request an absence for an extended period: <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Click <strong>Actions <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Select Date Range<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Update <strong>Start Date field<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Updated <strong>End Date field<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click<strong> Continue<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Follow Steps 4\u20138 to complete and submit the absence request for the selected date range.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>To clear selected dates<\/strong>, click the <strong>selected dates again<\/strong>. <em>(This will remove them from the calendar)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the<strong> Request Absence button <\/strong>located in the bottom-left corner of the screen The <strong>Request Absence<\/strong> window will open.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Choose Absence Type<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>In the pop-up window, select <strong>Type of Absence Time off<\/strong> from the drop-down<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select your Absence Type<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Select your Type of Absence (e.g., Vacation, Sick, etc.) from the drop-down menu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adjust Details of the Request<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Review and edit the <strong>Daily Quantity<\/strong>. The default is 24 hours; however, the system will display an error message if the hours exceed allowable limits. <strong><em>(Error: As of 06\/08\/2026, the Daily Quantity cannot exceed 12 hours.)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>If all selected dates are the same daily quantity<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Update <strong>Hours (Daily) <\/strong>field<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, add a <strong>comment<\/strong> for your manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>If selected dates are different daily quantities<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Click<strong> Edit Individual days<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select the date(s) you would like to <strong>edit<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Update<strong> Hours (Daily) <\/strong>field for each date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, add a <strong>comment<\/strong> for your manager\n<ul>\n<li>Click <strong>Submit Request <\/strong>to route the absence to your supervisor for approval.
