She will continue to advise students through 2029, and she welcomes conversations with past, present, and future students about careers in psychology, social services, or\u00a0the health professions.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">Prior to entering the phased retirement program, Dr. Strauss &#8211;\u00a0 a clinical psychologist &#8211; conducted research focused on strategies and interventions that promote emotional wellbeing.\u00a0 Her projects included investigations of anxiety mindsets, mindfulness, and attitudes about uncertainty as well as explorations of \u201cbody talk\u201d conversations, self-control styles in eating disorders, developmental trends in body objectification, and the impact of diet commercials on snack food consumption.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"adm\">\n<div id=\"q_3336\" class=\"ajR h4\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h5><strong>Education<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>BA: Swarthmore College<br \/>\nMA: University of Rochester<br \/>\nPhD: University of Rochester<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Selected publications (asterisks indicate student co-authors)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Strauss, J., Sullivan, J.*, Sullivan, C.*, Sullivan, S.J., &amp; Wittenberg, C.E.* (2015).
