Project: Environmental Education in Boys Totem Town

Boys Totem Town (BTT) is one of two juvenile detention facilities in Ramsey County. Save Our Sons and the Ready and Resilient team partnered to incorporate education about climate change, living sustainably, and environmental justice into the BTT system. Save Our Sons held four classes within BTT that were each attended by 12-20 youth and dealt with different aspects of environmental education from local farming to job opportunities within green industries. At each of the meetings, Melvin Carter co-presented with his son-in-law, Roi Ward.
