Are you interested in being a part of a meaningful, intentional community?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Live in Interfaith House!&nbsp; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdH2Hou5stnUnTeHWnhzwBmpxvR0T6NFXoY9TVlfNcFegupCg\/viewform\">Apply here<\/a> for 2021-2022.<\/strong><\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interfaith House at Kirk 8 allows for students to live out the fullness of their religious, cultural, spiritual, moral, and philosophical traditions\/explorations in relationship with others. Living in Interfaith House requires a commitment to responsibly maintaining community by caring for common spaces and being present for shared time.&nbsp; These commitments make possible creative discussion and dialogue across difference for students of diverse commitments from the world\u2019s religions, as well as seekers, agnostics, and humanists. By living together in intentional community, we seek to create a safe environment for exploration, mutual understanding, and relationship building.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Residency Expectations<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Members of the community are expected to make a commitment to living together in community. Activities include weekly community meals focusing on varied topics of interest and occasional events for the broader Macalester community, as suggested and designed in partnership with the staff of the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life. Expectations of residency include:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Care for each other and to care for the space.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A commitment to creating a safe living space to explore and discuss pertinent topics of faith, cultural practice, religious diversity, moral commitments, and spiritual life.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attendance at weekly Sunday evening community meal gatherings throughout the term.&nbsp; Share in preparing the food.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Honor the food preparation and dining practices of housemates of various religious communities and moral commitments, including, but not limited to, halal and kashrut, vegan and vegetarian dietary traditions.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students are not required to make a commitment to a particular understanding of the place of other faiths\/religions in the world, but are simply committed to conversation, relationship, and understanding.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since Interfaith House is campus housing, residents abide by all Residential Life and College policies.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interfaith House is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors of all religious, spiritual, and secular expressions. Kirk Section 8 has a large kitchen and access to the lounge. Students living in the Interfaith House are not required to have a residence hall meal plan.
