Much of his work focuses on Cambodia, where he lived from 2003-2006 during his initial period of fieldwork. He has written and edited books on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cup.columbia.edu\/book\/deathpower\/9780231169189\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Buddhist funeral rituals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/uhpress.hawaii.edu\/title\/simas-foundations-of-buddhist-religion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">temple boundaries (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s\u012bm\u0101<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and folktales. His current book manuscript, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each Other\u2019s Destiny: Rebirth and Relationship in Cambodian Buddhism<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, is in press with University of Hawai`i.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Davis has served committees and groups focused on Buddhism and Southeast Asia in the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) and the American Academy of Religions (AAR).
