Valeria Skvortsova, a visiting instructor, grew up in the northwest of Russia in the small town Borovichi which is situated in the middle between Moscow and Saint-Petersburg in the Novgorod region (where all the Russian tsars came from). For 6 years she lived in Moscow while attending M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. She majored in linguistics and teaching Russian as a foreign language.
While teaching Russian for different nationalities, she was able to travel all around the world. She has already visited 20 countries. Her passion is to experience countries through the eyes of natives. Lera likes to paint and draw; she attended art school for more than 10 years. She enjoys sports, including basketball and zumba-dance. She is interested in Cinema and Media Studies and has some experience in the area of Russian film, which she would like to share via Russian movie nights.
Valeria currently teaches Advanced Russian.
