OER refers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to teaching, learning, and research resources, such as &#8220;open textbooks,&#8221; that are free of cost and access barriers, and that carry legal permission for open reuse, distribution, and revision. OER can be integrated into open pedagogy teaching and learning practices<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with a goal of minimizing barriers to engagement, demonstrating understanding through collaborative and renewable assignments, and building communities of people committed to the co-creation of knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Library hosts an excellent <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.macalester.edu\/OER_Toolkit\">Open Educational Resources toolkit<\/a> page that can help you <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.macalester.edu\/OER_Toolkit\/find\">find open textbooks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.macalester.edu\/OER_Toolkit\/teach\">implement open pedagogy practices<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional recommended resources include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bccampus.ca\/topics-of-practice\/open-education\/open-pedagogy\/\">Definitions of and resources for open pedagogy <\/a>&nbsp;(from BCcampus in British Columbia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/milnepublishing.geneseo.edu\/openpedagogyapproaches\/\">Open Pedagogy Approaches: Faculty, Library, and Student Collaborations<\/a>&nbsp;(Clifton &amp; Hoffman)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Questions?
