Please note that this list is incomplete (will be updated soon!); check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/provost\/faculty-funding-support-2\/\">Provost&#8217;s Office<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/academic-programs\/facultyfunding\/\">Academic Programs and Advising<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/community-engagement\/academiccivicengagement\/\">Community Engagement Center<\/a> for additional funding sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty Travel and Research Funds (FTR)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>FTR funds help to support professional development activities such as attending conferences, journal subscriptions, research materials, professional association dues, etc.<br>Updated 2026: <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1T-1g6E6notqBiY8m-OytFB5sEdC_lEvhxTi03DGMCIA\/edit?tab=t.0\">Faculty Travel and Research Fund Guidelines and reimbursement process (gdoc)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wallace Grants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1LWStcfCXXpgVuytgoCSJJqzFwNY8DctjpX4G4_d8g8g\/edit?usp=sharing\">Wallace Scholarly Activities(Gdoc)<\/a>&nbsp;grants support faculty scholarship and travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications submitted in November will be considered for the current academic year. Applications submitted in February will be considered for next academic year. The application form for Fall 2026 will be available in early Fall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadline:&nbsp;TBA (Fall and Spring deadlines)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spark Grants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by a generous gift from Jeremy Allaire \u201893 to support faculty at Macalester, Spark Grants will provide rapid-response faculty funding to catalyze projects in scholarship and teaching that have clear outputs and relatively quick timelines. These grants will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis, with the idea of capturing the \u201cSpark\u201d of an idea while the &#8220;iron is hot.&#8221; All Macalester faculty members (tenure-track, tenured, non-tenure track, visiting faculty, and postdocs) with at least one planned year remaining of Macalester service may submit applications. Guidelines and the application form are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/11QQDjPEfrty_lH0GaUwyQZ7vpffkkVrMzGj_oXUjZx8\/edit?usp=sharing\">this link<\/a> (gdoc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fund for the Advancement of Collaborative Teaching (FACT)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Macalester supports the development of team-taught courses through the Fund for the Advancement of Collaborative Teaching (FACT), which offers $1000 course development stipends to each faculty member selected for a team-teaching experience as well as the possibility of hiring part-time faculty to cover courses necessary to a department\u2019s curriculum that might be lost due to the team-teaching assignment.
