Originally from Barcelona, Espa\u00f1a, she earned her BA in Journalism from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona and received her PhD in 2001 in Peninsular Literatures and Cultures, with a emphasis on Women\u2019s Studies from the University of Minnesota, where she completed her dissertation, <em>Ciudadanas e Inmigrantes en la Narrativa catalana de la transici\u00f3n: Montserrat Roig, Maria Barbal, Mar\u00eda Jaen y Maruja Torres, <\/em>January 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Some of her interests include the narratives of women\u2019s immigrant\u2019s voices, cultural studies, gender and film studies in Peninsular Literatures.<\/p>\n<p>She has participated in different national and international conferences on the study of Contemporary Spanish literature and cultures such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cTres modelos de ciudadanas en la Barcelona de la dictadura a la transici\u00f3n democr\u00e1tica\u201d.
