Grossman Lab at UMN<\/h2>\n

The Grossman Lab at the University of Minnesota broadly explores the ways in which we can better manage plant-soil-microbe relationships in organic cropping systems to enhance soil fertility, with the ultimate goal of developing sustainable food production systems. A central thread that connects much of our work is the examination of legume cover crops and associated soil microbes to help maintain landscape diversity and tighten nutrient cycling. Data Sci\/Cancer Genomics at UMN<\/h2>\n

We are currently looking for exceptional undergraduate students to complete an 11 week, intensive research experience, designed to provide immersive research training for students interested in a career in academic research\/medicine. Each student will conduct a small, independent research project focused on a scientific question using computational biology. Students will be expected to informally discuss their research results in laboratory and group meetings. A student\u2019s work will be directly supervised by a faculty member or a designated post-doctoral associate working in the laboratory. At the end of the summer, students will present their research to faculty from the Division of Pediatric Hematology\/Oncology, the Division of Pediatric Epidemiology and Clinical Research, the Division of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy, and other selected guests. \r\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

UMN Pain Consortium<\/h2>\n

This is a summer program for undergraduates conducting research into the mechanisms of pain and analgesia<\/strong> in laboratories of faculty in the University of Minnesota Departments of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Neuroscience. Up to two Macalester students will be selected to participate in the program.<\/span>\r\n\r\nJoin a laboratory in which scientists are collaborating to better understand neuropeptide signaling pathways involved in pain perception, hypersensitivity to pain, persistent pain syndromes, and opioid-induced tolerance and addiction. Students will engage with and receive mentoring from graduate students in a variety of graduate programs, and will participate in professional development activities and social events outside of the laboratory setting.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n
