Holly Bocchi joined the International Center at Macalester College in December 2013. As an Evaluation Assistant, she provides support for a campus-wide initiative to review study away programming. Her role is to research the study away programs currently promoted by Macalester and any potential additions for their "Recommended Programs" list. With the help of other International Center staff and faculty, the list of Recommended Programs will be revised to embody the latest in high quality programs that befit a Macalester education.
Holly comes to us with a deep love for traveling that was ingrained in her as a child by her parents with their two week road trips around the United States every summer. She took her first trip abroad by herself at the age of 17 when she went to visit a Panamanian exchange student she had befriended at her high school. This set in motion a desire to see the world that would not be stopped. During college she studied abroad for six weeks in Cuernavaca, Mexico and then spent the following year in Vienna, Austria. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Marketing & International Business and a minor in German in 2009, she spent the next two years teaching English in Austria through a program run by the Austrian-American Educational Commission. Holly has currently journeyed through 25 countries and 45 U.S. states.
In her free time, Holly enjoys planning trips, spending time with friends, cooking, taking community education classes, singing, and learning more about holistic healing.
