Each year, The Wine School of Philadelphia selects a student who has a positive effect on the learning environment in their classroom and has shown they will have a lasting impact on the wine world. This year, The Wine School of Philadelphia chose Macalester alum, Anna Binkovitz \u201914. This is a prestigious research opportunity in Princeton, New Jersey that you can read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ias.edu\/\">here<\/a>. <br><br>Professor Rachel Gold and their book, \u201cBeing Emily,\u201d were mentioned in a New York Times article as the best book Stephanie Burt, a Harvard professor and poet, ever received as a gift. Elkins published an article titled &#8220;Crafting the Queer Citational Turn&#8221; on the Oxford University Press Blog. Elkins also gave a lecture at the Houghton Library at Harvard University this past May. Her paper (and archival exhibition) was entitled \u201cIntimate Possibilities: Crafting the Queer Modernist Archive\u201d and was part of a panel on &#8220;Surfacing Craft in the Archive.&#8221; Get the full details <a href=\"https:\/\/bookhistory.harvard.edu\/event\/surfacing-craft-archive-presenters-deidre-lynch-mande-zecca-amy-elkins-and\">here<\/a>.<br><br>Sarah Ghazal Ali\u2019s book, <em>Theophanies<\/em>, was awarded the Julie Suk Award by <a href=\"https:\/\/jacarpress.com\/suk-award\/\">Jacar Press<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commonwealthclub.org\/events\/2025-06-23\/94th-annual-california-book-awards-honors-outstanding-books-california-authors\">California Book Award<\/a>, and was named a finalist for a <a href=\"https:\/\/forwardartsfoundation.org\/forward-prizes-for-poetry\/\">Forward Prize<\/a>: the Jerwood Prize for Best First Collection.
