Spring Dance Concert 2015: Stitchworks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Guest choreographer Dmitri Peskov<\/strong> created Last Winter Was the Coldest of Them All<\/em> during an intensive rehearsal period in January. The result is a collage of various motifs that simultaneously contrast and blend together. These contradictions include hot and cold, power and intimacy, human and animal, distance and closeness. There is a feeling of melancholy, and an indirect questioning of \u201cWhat is dance?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stitchworks <\/em>is also comprised of 10 new student choreographed works, including four solos, with themes ranging from conflict and abandonment, to unification and personal strength.  Student choreographers include Cassidy Foust<\/strong> \u201915 (Oconomowoc, Wis.), Kyoko Sakai<\/strong> \u201816 (Tokyo, Japan), Colleen Cilwick<\/strong> \u201817 (Ogden, Utah), Peace Madimutsa<\/strong> \u201817 (Harare, Zimbabwe), Ian Luebbers<\/strong> \u201817 (Downingtown, Penn.), Judy Syrkin-Nikolau<\/strong> \u201815 (Ames, Iowa), Molly Stark-Ragsdale<\/strong> \u201817 (Missoula, Mont.), and Catriona Leckie<\/strong> \u201817 (Pelham, N.Y.).  Senior soloists include Hector Santiago Bautista Aniceto<\/strong> \u201815 (Veracruz, Ver., Mexico), Katie Rank<\/strong> \u201815 (St. Louis, Mo.), Hana Sato<\/strong> \u201815 (Minneapolis, Minn.), and Laurel Thompson<\/strong> \u201815 (Northfield, Minn.).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
