Discerning whether a career as a health professional is right for you should be an ongoing process that continues throughout your undergraduate education and beyond. Because students may major in any discipline, it is important to learn about opportunities and resources available to explore your ideas, including classes and labs, internships, research experiences, career panels, volunteer and service experiences, and shadowing health professionals. Ongoing conversations with your advisers, instructors, and other students can also help you explore which pathway and career is best for you.
Macalester has health professions advisers who can advise about course selection and The Olin-Rice Hub helps connect students to opportunities in research, shadowing, and career exploration, including major exploration, career assessments, graduate school exploration, and resume and interview preparation. Watch for The Hub’s summer opportunities workshops in November and April.
