Leland Guyer has been a member of the Macalester faculty since 1983 and is currently Professor of Hispanic Studies. He is a translator of literature and intellectual history from both Spanish and Portuguese to English and recently completed a bilingual anthology of the Brazilian poet Ferreira Gullar. Currently living near Tucson, Arizona, he remains an active alpine backpacker and pilot for the Civil Air Patrol.
