Sedric McClure coordinates the Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) that promotes a holistic approach to academics while emphasizing strategic planning for undergraduate opportunities such as study abroad, undergraduate fellowships, and graduate studies. Program initiatives invite students to explore the layered meanings of a liberal arts education through community building, engaged and sustained campus collaboration, and reduction of environmental barriers that prevent individual or collective excellence. By extension, Sedric works closely with the Civic Engagement Center to support the Bonner Scholars Leadership Program as well as Macalester's college access endeavors. Sedric is passionate about the infusion of multiculturalism into the critical functions of the college. In his spare moments, he likes to read, play golf, spend time with family and friends, and use humor to chase the blues away.
