Get Your Skin in Shape for Summer: What to Watch For, How to Look Your Best, and When to Seek Help for Your Skin. A discussion of both medical and cosmetic dermatology topics followed by Q&A.

Lauren Sundick is a board-certified Physician Assistant, who has specialized in medical and cosmetic dermatology for many years. She enjoys all aspects of dermatology, most notably combining her medical and aesthetic experience to provide the best outcome for her patients. She began her career in New York City, but moved home to Minnesota with her husband in 2012. Lauren practices at Tareen Dermatology in Roseville, MN.

Lunch will be provided at 11:45 am for those who pre-registered, with the presentation beginning at noon in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom. 

WHAM Community Walk/Bike & Picnic Lunch - Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Join your colleagues to celebrate spring, restore your well-being and promote breast cancer screenings.  Choose to join our group of walkers or bikers.  We’ll depart from the front entrance of the Leonard Center and head out for a 45 min walk or 45 min bike ride.  Both groups will return to Shaw Field for a community picnic and have a chance to make a smoothie with the MacBike Blender Bike.  Lunch will be provided to those registered.

We invite you to wear pink, appropriate shoes, sun protection, and if you choose to bike, a helmet is recommended. The event will take place from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.  Register through Chautauqua.

Late Spring Semester Classes: -   sign up ONLINE

Registration begins on Friday, March 11, 2016.  Classes begin the week of March 28, 2016.

The 6-week series of classes have a registration fee of $20 for students and $25 for faculty and staff. If a class meets more than weekly, the registration fee may be higher and is noted by the class description.  Classes that do not have the required minimum of 10 participants (14 for mindfulness) will be cancelled.  You will be notified and refunded if we cancel the class.  Please note:  Refunds are only available up to the first day of class, with no exceptions.

Boot Camp - Tuesday and Thursdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 29 - May 5, 2016.
A fun, high energy class with ever changing routines aimed at incorporating cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, and core strength.  This is an advanced class that involves low impact jumping, running, and interval training.  Because this class meets twice per week, the fee is $40 for faculty/staff.

Circuit Training - Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 28 - May 4, 2016.
Resistance training that provides a total body strength workout and elevates the heart rate.  Because this class meets twice per week, the fee is $40 for faculty and staff.

MIndfulness - Thursdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 31 - May 5, 2016
Come and learn how mindfulness can help us weather the storms of our lives with more calm, acceptance and compassion.  This class is open to everyone, whether you are new to mindfulness or you would like to revitalize or deepen your meditation practice. Participants will learn ways to integrate mindfulness into their daily lives, including silent and guided meditations, compassion practices, and breath awareness.

Location:  Club Sports Room (Kelly Fang's office)

Pilates - Tuesdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 29 - May 3, 2016.
Strengthen and lengthen with Pilates. This mat class will help you develop abdominal strength and control, while creating a connection between your core and the rest of your body. The exercises emphasize proper breathing, precise alignment, and efficient sequencing of movement. Mats are available or feel free to bring your own.   All levels welcome.

Yoga - Mondays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 28 - May 2, 2016.
Join a CorePower trained yoga teacher for a power Vinyasa flow.  This invigorating class connects breath and movement through a dynamic and intelligently designed series of postures, emphasizing body awareness and mindfulness.  Set to music, this practice will leave you energized and refreshed.  Mats are available or feel free to bring your own.

Yoga - Wednesdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 30 - May 4, 2016.
Learn yoga basics in this beginner-friendly hatha yoga class.  Explore alignment principles of specific poses (asanas) and experience more flowing movement sequences (vinyasa).  Increase strength, flexibility, and body awareness, and leave feeling more calm and refreshed.  Mats are available or feel free to bring your own.

Yoga Barre - Thursdays, 12:05 - 12:55 pm, March 31 - May 5, 2016.
Yoga Barre class is a combination of the stretching and toning movements of Pilates and Yoga with the strengthening and sculpting principles of ballet.  You will use small isometric movements to target and tone every muscle in your body.  This class is accessible for all levels and beginners are always welcome. Dress as you would for a yoga practice- no socks or shoes are needed.  Props and mats are provided for this practice.
