Fall Classes

Registration for Fall Session 2 will open on Tuesday, October 20 and close on Wednesday, October 28.  The 6-week series runs from the week of November 2 to December 11.

What’s new?  We’ve brought back the Flex option for Circuit training and Boot camp to give you the flexibility of attending any two classes per week for only $40.  We’re also offering a new Yoga for Resilience class on Thursday evenings.

If classes do not have the mandatory minimum enrollment (10 or more people) by the registration deadline, the class may be cancelled.  You will be notified and refunded if we cancel the class.  Please note:  Refund requests are only available up to the first day of class, with no exceptions.

Spouses and domestic partners are encouraged to register and join our WHAM community in staying healthy and well during this unusual time.

Class Descriptions

Yoga

Hatha Yoga – Mondays, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 2 – December 7, 2020. Cost is $25.
Learn yoga basics in this beginner-friendly hatha yoga class.  Explore alignment principles of specific poses (asanas) and experience more flowing movement sequences (vinyasa).  Increase strength, flexibility, and body awareness, and leave feeling more calm and refreshed.

Hatha Yoga – Wednesdays, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 4 – December 9, 2020. Cost is $25.

Yoga for Resilience – Thursdays, 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm (75 min class), Online with Zoom, November 5 – December 10, 2020. Cost is $25.                                                                                                                                    Resilience enhances our capacity to respond skillfully to life’s challenges – to adapt and thrive when faced with stress or adversity. It is also a competence that can be strengthened through instruction and practice. Yoga can help participants build their internal resilience in order to support themselves and those who rely on them for connection and support.

This class is for staff, faculty and your spouses/domestic partners.  It is welcoming to ALL bodies, and no prior yoga experience is needed.

Strength Training

Circuit Training – Monday & Wednesday, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 2 – December 9, 2020.
Resistance training that provides total body strength, endurance, core strength, and cardiovascular fitness.  Participants are able to work at their own pace and push themselves based on their goals and fitness level. This class meets twice per week for 6 weeks.  No equipment is necessary.  All workouts will be able to be completed at home.

  • $40 Flex pass (2 classes per week of either Circuit Training or Boot Camp)
  • $40 Standard Circuit Training pass

Boot Camp – Tuesday & Thursday, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 3 – December 10, 2020.
A fun, high-energy class with ever-changing routines aimed at incorporating cardiovascular fitness along with total body muscular endurance and strength. This is an advanced class that involves low impact jumping, running, and interval training. Workouts and exercise can be modified for different fitness levels. No equipment is necessary.  All workouts will be able to be completed at home. This class meets twice per week for 6 weeks.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness – Thursdays, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 5 – December 10, 2020. Cost is $25.  Join us in exploring how mindfulness can help us develop compassion for ourselves and others, and tolerance for difficult aspects of our life, through a variety of doable practices.   Each session offers time for mindful meditation, as well as exploring practical ways to apply mindfulness in our daily lives. Everyone is welcome, those new to, as well as those who are experienced in mindfulness.

Cardio

Dance Cardio – Fridays, 12:05 – 12:50 pm, Online with Zoom, November 6 – December 11, 2020. Cost $25.
Improve your endurance, strength, coordination and flexibility in this fun, calorie-burning, dance workout! After a full body warm up, you’ll be led through easy-to-follow moves set to today’s hottest pop, hip-hop and dance music, as well as your favorite throwbacks! This class is great for all fitness levels and no dance experience is required. Please wear indoor sneakers or dance shoes, have a water bottle, and get ready to sweat!
