The Health Promotion Program is a vital component of Health Services. Health Promotion collaborates with students to enhance their health so that they can be best prepared to pursue their personal, academic, and career goals. Our mission is to:

  • Create a campus environment in which students feel empowered to make healthy choices
  • Contribute to the development of healthy lifestyles
  • Reduce loss of class and study hours due to health concerns

Activities

Here is a partial list of the health promotion activities we offer:

  • Education and information about specific health concerns
  • Outreach education on issues such as alcohol and other drugs, sexuality, stress, nutrition and fitness, and medical self-care
  • Special events on campus such as "Safe Spring Break Week"
  • Resource library for personal use, classroom presentations or projects
  • Training opportunities including work-study and practica for students interested in exploring health-related careers
  • Public health campaigns
  • Peer education programs

You can access our services through this site, contact us at the front desk in the Winton Building, or meet with one of our interns at Back Door Health Tips.
