Student Session Abstract 4

“Being Good Story Listeners: Lessons from Northern Ireland”

How do you know that you understood someone’s story? Northern Ireland demonstrates both the power and the complexity of stories in peacebuilding. Stories are the foundation of building understanding across differences, but they are a two-way street. A storyteller needs a story listener.

In this interactive workshop, learn about the role of stories in Northern Ireland and lessons learnt studying abroad there, practice your own storytelling and storylistening skills, and walk away with another tool in your peacebuilding toolkit.
