Sharing the Impact of Macalester Davis Peace Project: Stories of Peace Building and Reconciliation
For the 2025 32nd Roundtable Discussion, this session highlights the realizations of 2025 Davis Peace Projects. The Davis Peace Projects provide $10,000 grants to support initiatives worldwide focused on peacebuilding and reconciliation. This year, two projects from Macalester students were awarded grants for Rwanda and Niger.
The recipients will share their experiences in a storytelling format, discussing their project proposals, motivations, implementation, and the outcomes of their work. Participants will gain insight into the real-world impact of the grants and the tangible contributions of youth-led initiatives to peace efforts. The session will feature the recipients’ testimonies, along with photos and videos of their projects, followed by a Q&A where the audience can ask questions.
In today’s global political climate, where violence often dominates headlines, this session serves as a reminder of the ongoing peace efforts happening across the world, including right here within the Macalester community. Anyone interested in global peacebuilding practices, learning about peace realities in African countries, youth-led initiatives, or strategies for bridging divided societies is encouraged to attend this promising session.
