Neshet joined the CRSL as the Muslim and Interfaith chaplain in November 2025. He holds a BA in theology at Marmara University Divinity School, in Istanbul, Turkiye, and an MA degree in Qur’anic Exegesis at the same University. He earned the MAGC, a master’s degree in “Islamic Studies, Muslim-Christian Relations,” and the graduate certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut in 2015. He continues towards his PhD degree in Islamic Spirituality at Indiana University.
Neshet’s view on chaplaincy can be summarized in the words of the famous Anatolian Sufi poet Yunus Emre (d. 1320): ‘We love the created for the sake of the Creator.’ Every being deserves love, respect, and compassion, as each is a manifestation of God. Therefore, whoever takes care of a being will be blessed by the Compassionate One. Consequently, religiosity and piety is not just between the individual and the Lord, also between the individual and the entire cosmos. In this regard, interfaith relations are a golden key in building a better and peaceful world.
Open up your heart to everyone, as much as you can, let it be like the oceans!
Stretch with faith and have love for humanity, let no grieving heart remain who you don’t lend a hand!
