- Who can stay at Briggs House?
Briggs House guest rooms are for hosted guests of college offices and departments. This includes but is not limited to job candidates, guest speakers, members of the Board of Trustees and Alumni Board during scheduled meetings, and academic reviewers.
- What is the cost per night?
Guest rooms are $140/night, and are payable with your department or office FOAPAL. There are no additional taxes or fees.
- When are guest rooms available for reservation?
Guest rooms are available Monday through Thursday nights during the academic year. Briggs House is closed during all college observed holidays and breaks.
- What are your check in and check out times?
Check in is available between 3:00-10:30 pm.
Check out time is by 10:00 am.
- What are check in procedures?
Hosting departments will receive an email with detailed check-in instructions for their guests, including a unique, keyless entry code in the event that Briggs manager or staff are not in the House when the guest arrives.
- Can I request an early check-in, or late check-out time?
Special requests may be accommodated depending on other reservations and events. Reach out to Briggs House Manager with requests and questions.
- How do guests access the House during their stay?
Guests receive a physical key at check in; this key will open their unique suite door, as well as the three House exterior doors so they may come and go as needed.
- What are check out procedures?
Guests may leave their keys either in their guest suite, or at the kitchen workstation. The Briggs House doors will lock automatically when closed.
- Can guests leave their luggage at Briggs House after check out time if they still have events on campus that day?
No; hosting departments should plan to store their guests’ belongings until they depart campus. Guests should take all of their belongings with them when they check out.
- Do you provide any meals or food for guests?
Briggs House offers complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa, and assorted dairy and non-dairy milks and creamers are available to guests during their stay at Briggs House. No meals or other foods are available for guests.
- Do guests have use of the kitchen during their stay?
Briggs House guests are welcome to warm their prepared foods in the microwave, or to use the toaster oven, and they may use Briggs dishes/silverware to eat food they have brought into the House. Guests are not permitted to cook or prepare foods, and they should store any of their personal food items in the mini refrigerators located in their guest suite. Kitchen access for warming foods may be limited during private events.
