Movie Screening - Something is Happening with Director Anne Alix

French Film Director Anne Alix will screen her latest movie Something is Happening.  Irma, who doesn’t seem to find her place in the world crosses paths with Dolores, a free and uninhibited woman who is on a mission to write a gay-friendly travel guide on a forgotten area in Provence. The unlikely duo takes to the road and contrary to the sought-after pittoresque and sexy Provence, they discover a more complex and a warm-hearted humanity, struggling to exist. For both of them the trip becomes an initiatory journey.

Alix was born in 1964 in Paris and now lives and works in Marseille.  She is a director and writer known for Une Ile (2011) and Something is Happening (2018).

Director Anne Alix will be present at the screening.

The US tour of Director Anne Alix is organized by UniFrance and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States as part of Young French Cinema program. Event sponsored by French and Francophone Studies at Macalester College.
