Canceled: London Big Questions: What's the status of the American Way?

The American way faces multiple threats—including whether or not it even exists for all Americans. Disturbing racial inequities remain in wages, housing, and education. Huge numbers of baby boomers are retiring and changing the economy. Mental health crises are rising among youth. Other countries, however, face similar challenges. How does the context of each country interact with these issues? Does the American way now mean America first? Is there an American way of life, or a Japanese way of life, or just a 21st century way of life, and what does it mean for global citizens?

Join us for a conversation about civic life, challenges, and hope in the 21st century.  Featuring Professor Lesley Lavery, associate professor of political science and President Brian Rosenberg. We’ll also celebrate President Rosenberg’s service to Macalester.
