Brian Rood is trained as a clinical psychologist and public health practitioner. His research and scholarship focus on the development of interventions to improve the mental and physical health of historically marginalized communities (e.g., communities of color, people living with HIV, and LGBTQ+ communities). Prior to Macalester, he worked across different settings: academic medical centers, community-based organizations, health clinics, and, most recently, as a senior executive in the health care industry. Brian’s teaching experience and interests include courses in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, Psychopathology, Research Methods, and Queer and Trans Health.
