Her research area focuses on exile and the construction of identity through literature, a field in which she has published and presented different papers at international conferences, contributing to the recovery and preservation of historical memory. Her work is particularly centered on exile literature and the analysis of cultural identity in contemporary Peninsular and Latin American literature, connecting historical collective memory and identity with cultural studies and literary criticism.
Among Blanca Gimeno´s publications is the first monographic book on the Spanish writer and journalist Cecilia G. de Guilarte, called Cecilia G. de Guilarte. Un discurso valiente en el exilio español de 1939 en México (2018). The book includes the author’s literary corpus along with a critical study that contributes to the recovery of her work during her period of exile.
