In Academic Programs and Advising, Katie is a bridge between students, faculty and staff to support students’ academic success at Macalester.

  • Supporting students and faculty in Academic Standing and Academic Integrity
  • Celebrating Honors Student achievements
  • Collaborating with students on navigating policies and systems at Mac
  • Advising Transfer and Exchange students
On the personal side

As a first generation college student, Katie is passionate about transparency and access– there is no such thing as a silly question! Beyond work or studying, Katie loves to garden, be outside with her family and her pup, or escape in a good fantasy sci-fi book.

Academic Background
  • B.A. in English and Communication from the College of St. Benedict
  • M.Ed in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in Student Affairs with an Emphasis in Leadership and Learning from Iowa State University
  • Currently pursuing her Ph.D in Higher Education Leadership at Colorado State University, researching the impact of academic difficulty on college student identity development
