Information Sessions & Campus Tours. We encourage all visitors to attend the Information Session and Campus Tour. The 30-minute Information Session is followed by a campus tour that is approximately one hour in length.
Both are offered Monday-Friday, year round, and on Saturday mornings during the fall semester. View the Visit Calendar for more details.
Interviews. Interviews are recommended, but not required. They are available Monday-Friday year round and on Saturdays during the fall semester. Interviews are conducted by Admissions counselors, interns and interviewers. Please allow for 45 minutes.
Seniors who wish to interview must do so by February 1 of their senior year. Juniors may interview beginning the January prior to their senior year. Transfer students must interview by April 15. Each student may interview only once. Off-campus interviews with alumni may be available on a limited basis. Contact the Admissions Office for more information at email@example.com.
Class Visits. The best place to begin your investigation of Macalester’s academic program is in the classroom. Sit in on a class or two while you are here. During the semester, when you arrive on campus, you will be able to choose from a select list of available classes.
Overnight Visits. Spending the night in a residence hall with a volunteer host is the best way to experience Mac life outside of the classroom. Overnight visits are available during the academic year only.
Reservations for on-campus overnights must be made at least two weeks in advance. We cannot provide overnight accommodations during vacations, examination periods, Friday and Saturday nights, or for more than one night. Space is limited; plan ahead.
Because so many high school seniors request overnight visits, Macalester is not able to host juniors overnight. We welcome juniors for daytime visits and campus tours.
Hotel Reservations. Please note that persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult when checking into a hotel in Minnesota.
Other Requests. You may want to schedule an appointment to meet with a faculty member, coach, or other member of the Macalester community while you are on campus. The Admissions Office will put you in contact with the appropriate person on campus so that you can arrange a meeting directly.
Group Visits. We offer group visit opportunities to student visitors who are in or
entering 10th through 12th grades. View more information on the Group Visit FAQ.
